Threshold 11 – Route Jean-Gauvin

• At the end of Runway 11-29, near threshold 11.

• Offers a different perspective for takeoffs and landings compared to Runway 0-24, with a view of the terminal and the city.

• Open from May to November via 8e avenue de l’Aéroport or boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel (gravel road).

• Perfect for viewing takeoffs and landings on the main runway.

• Be careful—Route de l’Aéroport is a very busy road.

The Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport has two runways:

• Runway 06-24: 2,743 m (9,000') long

• Runway 11-29: 1,587 m (5,207') long

The runway in use is determined by the direction of the winds and weather conditions.

There are some rules to follow to ensure plane spotting remains a safe and fun activity for all. In case of non-compliance, airport security or the Québec City police department may intervene and apply certain measures.

• Do not block access to the airport site.

• People, their vehicle and their equipment must remain 3 m away from the fence around the site.

• Do not photograph or film emergency operations on the airport site or surrounding area during incidents involving an aircraft or a medical emergency landing.

• Do not climb onto any structures (fences, cement blocks, snow mounds, etc.).

• Do not break the fences around the secure areas by trying to get your camera through them.

• Ladders and other tools used for climbing are prohibited.

• Do not flash your headlights and don’t point any lasers towards aircraft.

• Do not litter, as this may attract animals.
