Traveling with the family
Travelling with young kids? YQB strives to make your time at the airport as simple and pleasant as possible. Here are a few handy tips and an overview of our services for families.
Baggage
If you’re travelling with a child under the age of 2, here are the items you can bring in your carry-on:
baby food and formula
milk, water and juice
medication
ice packs to keep everything cold
These items are exempt from the restrictions on liquids, but have to be inspected separately at security. To learn more, visit the CATSA website.
Stroller and car seat
Are you travelling with a stroller or car seat?
Check with your airline to see if you can use your stroller in the terminal and check it at the gate.
Once you’ve reached your destination, you can easily collect your stroller or car seat when you disembark the plane.
Security
You have priority access to security checkpoints when travelling with children.
Present all liquids and baby products to a staff member.
To learn more, visit the CATSA website.
Family rooms
Need a quiet moment to feed your baby? There’s a comfortable private room after security, near gate 31, where you’ll find:
a rocking chair
a microwave
a peaceful environment
There’s another nursing space near gate 34.
There are also family bathrooms available. They’re roomy and private, with enough space for the whole family.
Literary layovers
Books can travel too! You can share your own thanks to the mini libraries in the airport.
For kids: near gate 31
For adults: near gate 34
The idea is simple—take a book, leave a book.
Children's Play Area
Your kids need to move? Head to the children's play area designed for young children. You can find it between gates 36 and 37. It’s a win-win—your kids get to have fun while you enjoy a little break.
Boarding
Families are invited to board first. Take advantage of this time to stow your bags, settle in, buckle up…and take a breather before takeoff.
